What does Polyvore Mean?

Welcome to Paper Dollz!

This is our first blog post and we are very excited to bring to you what we think will be a fun and different blog full of fashion mash ups and the actual use of our inventories from old items to new! It all started with Polyvore .com and a game I came up with.  Basically, pick an outfit from Polyvore and either recreate it as perfectly as you can or interpret it and create your own outfit. Be inspired by the trends and colors and looks of the day. We all agree we don’t use our entire inventories and we only focus on new stuff. Don’t get us wrong the new stuff is amazing but let’s use what we’ve spent a  kajillion lindens on!!

Today we introduce ourselves to you. We are Bethany, Phemie, Rosie,  Clementine and Aranel and some posts from our resident male hottie Marc Gellner. We will be posting outfits weekly but we will also be throwing out there lots of fun challenges to you readers to create your own recreations or interpretations. We have a Flickr Group for you to upload your outfits and we will post our favs. so come on Paper Dollz, let’s get dressed!

So what does Polyvore mean? According to a site I found when I googled that question it is the combination of the word ‘poly’, meaning many and the word ‘vore’ meaning someone who has a fetish for tearing people apart and eating them… WTF?!?!?!

We chose to ignore that definition and give it a slightly somewhat different meaning here at Paper Dollz. We have decided that it means that you have an insatiable fetish for fashion! And that, we do!
